Miniature Salt and Pepper shakers at home as doll house decor.
I got lucky and picked up a nice little collection of ARCADIA Mini S&P shaker sets. These novelty figural sets are so cute, even grown-up me has fun playing with them, mixing and matching and re-arranging them. They are all so detailed, and tiny -- generally only 1" to 2" tall/wide.
Wouldn't they be perfect as doll house furniture and accessories?
Info about Arcadia Ceramics:
Arcadia Ceramics was in Arcadia, California, making these little novelty shakers officially California Pottery. Circa 1950s- early 1960s. Here's a pic of their logo from an original package. They came glued to a paper base with a plastic dome stapled over them. You can sometimes find them still in this package. Do NOT ship them like that, though. The shakers can easily come unstuck from the base, and they'll just roll around inside the dome, crashing into each other and breaking into pieces. Gently undo the staple, and slide a blade under the shaker to get it off the base. The presentation can always be re-assembled.
I do not know how many sets they made. Many, many more than I have shown here, that's for sure.
At this time there is no real info online about Arcadia Ceramics. Check out these few websites that do mention the company, and show some of the assorted mini go-with shakers they made:

A very rare set -- Cannibal and Man in Pot
Here are some other great Arcadia sets:
Sewing Machine, Dress Form, GOLDEN THIMBLE, and SPOOL OF GOLD THREAD
The thread spool says NO SILVER THREADS AMONG THE GOLD --- which is a sweet thought taken from this song, Be My Life`s Companion, by the Mills Brothers and Rosemary Clooney (George's Aunt) on the album The Very Best of the Mills Brothers.
Lyrics:
Want no silver threads among the gold.
Want no silver threads among the gold.
Want no silver threads; want some action instead.
Want no silver threads among the gold.
Be my life`s companion, and you`ll never grow old.
I`ll love you so much that you`ll never grow old.
When there`s joy in living, you just never grow old.
You`ve got to stay young, `cause you`ll never grow old.
ANTIQUE CAMERA W/ VICTORIAN PHOTO ALBUM
Check out the pix in the "Victorian" album -- that's the Alfred E. Neuman character from MAD Magazine fame -- only he really was from the turn of the century, and MAD Mag appropriated him. I have seen his face on postcards from the 1910s! read about the history of Alfred, also known as the "What, Me Worry?" kid -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_E._Neuman
And here are even more Arcadia S&P sets:
